Because sometimes you have to become your own biggest cheerleader. You have to remind yourself who you are when life gets loud, plans change, and you start questioning whether you’re really on the right path.
So I stood up, straightened my crown, took a breath and said:
Nah. This ain’t luck. This is legacy.
Everything I’ve survived. Everything I’ve learned. Every idea I was too afraid to start. Every version of me I had to outgrow.
There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes with Time With Trish, and I’m excited to finally start bringing it all back to life.
For a while, I had so many ideas, stories, and things I wanted to share but I kept waiting for the “right” time, the right look, or for everything to feel perfect.
I’m learning that sometimes you just have to start.
So, here we are.
Time With Trish is getting a fresh start.
You can expect more stories, motherhood moments, travel, faith, personal growth, lifestyle, and a little bit of everything that makes up this journey called life.
I’ll also be sharing more of what’s happening behind the scenes from being a mom to Akish, becoming a homeowner, getting back into creating, chasing new dreams, and continuing to figure out who Trish is becoming along the way.
This space has always been about connection, conversation, and being honest about the journey.
And this time, I don’t want to hide behind perfection.
A little tradition between a mother and her son, and a reminder that the smallest moments can become our biggest memories.
Some memories are planned, and others become special without us even realizing it. When Akish was around two years old, we started doing our own little handshake. It was our thing a small moment that belonged to us. At the time, I didn’t know just how much that little tradition would mean to me.
Now, he will randomly initiate our handshake all on his own. Sometimes, it catches me off guard. I find myself smiling, and honestly, sometimes my eyes fill with happy tears. Because in that moment, I am reminded that he remembers. He remembers something we created together. Something so simple, yet so full of love.
Motherhood has taught me that connection doesn’t always come from grand gestures or perfectly planned moments. Sometimes, it’s in the little routines, the inside jokes, the hugs, and the traditions that only you and your child understand.
As he grows, I know there will be so many things that change. He’ll learn new things, discover who he is, and become more independent. But I hope we always make room for these little moments of connection.
I want him to grow up knowing that he is loved, that our bond is something to cherish, and that even the smallest memories can stay with us for a lifetime.
So today, I’m sharing a little piece of us; and a handshake that means more to me than words can explain.
A little handshake. A lifetime of love.
What little tradition do you share with someone you love? I’d love to hear about it.
With love,
Trish 🤎
Time With Trish — genuine conversation, meaningful connection, and the beauty of life’s little moments.
My mind is racing with thoughts of what to say, as usual. But this may be one of the first times I’ve really stopped to think about what I want to say not because I want to make it perfect, but because I want to make it honest.
And this time, I’m choosing honesty.
For so long, I’ve wrestled with whether I should share the challenges I’ve experienced or simply show the glitz and glam that people may be used to seeing from me. But when I started writing, I realized that my purpose was never to create a picture of perfection. It was to share my truth.
So here it is.
The journey itself is not easy. There are so many parts of life, love, career, passion, purpose and none of them come without challenges. We experience so many emotions trying to keep up, trying to have it all together, and sometimes trying to appear perfect.
But perfection is far from who any of us really are.
Trust me, I know.
I never pretended to be perfect, but I can understand why others may have thought I was. I simply didn’t share the parts of my life that weren’t perfect. From the outside looking in, of course, everything can appear to be going well.
But behind the scenes, I’ve struggled mentally, physically, and emotionally throughout different seasons of my life.
And something I began to realize was that the closer I got to the dreams I had been praying for, the more difficult things seemed to become.
That’s when I realized I was being tested not to give up, but to develop persistence, patience, and the courage to truly be myself and share that person with the world.
I’ve learned that timing is everything.
And you know what works hand in hand with timing?
Patience.
Don’t move so fast that you pass by God’s timing.
If you’re entering a new year feeling uncertain, remember that you don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to force the next chapter. You don’t have to pretend that everything is perfect.
Allow this new year to remind you that you are still growing, still becoming, and still moving forward.
Maybe the delays, the challenges, and even the things you thought were setbacks are actually preparing you for what’s next.
It’s a new year.
Trust the process. Be honest with yourself. Be patient with the journey.
And most importantly, trust that God’s timing is still working in your favor.
I want to share my experiences in life in hopes that something I’ve been through can help someone else.
I’ve learned that it can be difficult to speak up for yourself, especially when you’re still finding your voice. But you can’t heal what you don’t speak about. Sometimes, sharing your story is the first step toward healing; not only for yourself, but for someone who may be quietly going through something similar.
My goal is to inspire, encourage, and share real-life stories in a creative and meaningful way. I believe there is purpose in our experiences, even the difficult ones, and that our stories can become someone else’s encouragement.
Because everything is literally possible.
Look at the word itself: I’m possible.
So, let’s believe bigger, dream boldly, and manifest together.
